Sorry it took me so long to get back to you Degus are pretty simple animals, related to the chinchilla and the guinea pig, they eat timothy hay and chinchilla food (not much more then timothy hay and some vitamins really) they love being in groups of 2 or more, as long as they are well fed or else they will eat their mates >.< They need pine bedding (aspen will hurt their lungs), chew blocks, and some time to run outside the cage ^.^ plenty of water and love and they will live for years *nodnod*
